![]() Only one can be active at a time, and is triggered by the magic button. A 4-item dock at the bottom of the screen houses your magic runes. Suits of armor and shields are also floating around. There is a strong assortment of swords, axes, bows, and clubs in the weapons category. You can get gear to outfit your hero from fallen enemies, shops, and treasure chests. All your quests pile up in your menu for you to peruse at your leisure. Ravensword is like a real RPG in that respect. In addition to the main quest, you’ll come across folks all over Tyreas(the main town) that have problems for you to solve. It will take some time to get used to everything in here and the way to navigate through it all, but things are pretty well laid out for a touch screen device. Your backpack is the interface for managing not just items and gear, but also your stats, talents and quests. The top left houses a “backpack” button, which is where things get more complicated. The rest of the interface contains a compass/map key and a first-person to third-person view toggle. The controls do need a bit getting used to, with two virtual joysticks to control movement and a pair of attack and jump buttons pinned in the bottom right. This continues when you notice most characters in the game are capable of interacting, from talking to shopkeepers about their wares to asking guards for directions. Within the first few minutes of starting you understand how in-depth this game goes, having to wander the town for supplies. In a typical RPG fashion, you start off with nothing much more than a few clothes and some gold on your pack. ![]() The background music and sound effects are decent enough. You have great graphics and locations plus the fighting scenes are fast and fun with dodging, jumping, swordplay, rolling and also stealth, magic and ranged attacks. The story becomes simply an adventure based game and leaves much to be desired in the storyline.īut the main focus of the developers, Cresent Moon seems to have been in bringing the PC based RPG gameplay to the mobile medium, and in that they have succeeded impressively. ![]() And so off you go in search of the sword which can be found only with the help of three Ravenstones. You also discover that there is only one sword which could kill your enemy and that is the Ravensword. In the course of your journey, you find out that you are in fact a descendant of an ancient and noble bloodline. Now you have to search for the reason you survived and also kill the monster who killed everyone. You play the role of a character who is the only survivor of an apocalyptic battle where someone killed everyone from both sides of the battle and somehow you survived. The story is not very good, but decent and leaves much space for creativity. The gameplay, visuals, textures, graphic and character details and the scale of locations are simply jawdropping for an android platform. I have been playing this game for sometime and it’s simply amazing. This game however, seems to have set that perception aside and came very close to giving a real PC level RPG experience on the mobile phone. We usually associate RPG games with PC or Console platform, but not with the android platform.
